Define compliance rules

Define compliance rules as desired for your facility. Each user will be required to meet these compliance rules.

RADplus Utilities > Compliance Management > Compliance Rule Definition

  • Depending on the combination of values selected, different fields will be enabled.

Rule

  1. Click Select Rule. A dialog displays, from which you can select an existing rule, or click Add New Rule.
  2. Click Delete Rule to delete an existing compliance rule.
Confirming the deletion will remove the rule immediately and permanently.
  3. In the Rule ID field, enter the unique identifier for the rule. The Rule ID is display-only for existing rules.
  4. In the Rule Name field, enter a title for reference.
  5. In the Form field, select the form to apply to this rule. The selections in this field are based on the parent application.
  6. In the Rule Frequency field, select the timing for the rule. The selection in this field are based on the functionality of the parent application.
  7. In the Event field, select what event triggers the compliance rule. This field is enabled when the Rule Frequency field is set to any timing structure based on an event.

Recurrence Pattern

  1. In the Recurrence Pattern field, select how often the occurrence happens. This field is enabled when the Rule Frequency field is set to any timing structure based on a recurring event.
  2. In the Occurrence Sequence field, enter the number of days, weeks, months, or years the event will occur. For example, if "2" is entered for a Daily recurrence pattern, the task will occur every two days after the event date.
  3. If the Recurrence Pattern is Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly, select the day on which the rule should occur in the Recur Every field.
  4. If the Recurrence Pattern is Yearly, select the occurring month in the Month field.
  5. In the Recur On field, you can select which day of the month, and/or year to schedule.
  6. In the Specific Day field, enter the specific day of the year for which to schedule the rule. This field is enabled when the Recurrence Pattern field is set to Yearly, the Recur Every field is set to Other, and the Recur On field is set to Specific Day.
  7. In the Exclude Today field, select Yes if the current day should be excluded from the compliance rule.

Configuration

  1. In the Number of Days Within Due Date to Start Notification field, enter the number of days after the compliance rule due date to begin showing compliance rule indicators for this rule. The out of compliance notification will not be triggered until it matches the defined date. This is useful if multiple rules are due on the same date, and you wish to stagger when you will see the notifications and indicators for them.
This will not trigger a user notification.
  2. In the Rule Effective Date field, enter the date that this rule becomes active.
  3. In the Rule Tool Tip field, enter the title to display for the compliance rule.
  4. In the Limit Rows Considered Complete to Those Marked as Final field, select Yes if final status will limit rows to be considered complete.

Notifications

  1. In the Number of Minutes Within Due Date to Send Notification field, enter the number of minutes prior to the due date of a compliance rule for notifications to send.
For example, if a client will become out of compliance at 12:30 PM the following day, a value of "30" will allow the system to send out a notification 30 minutes prior to non-compliance, at 12:00 PM. This field is responsible for the creation of actual notifications such as To-Dos, pop-up prompts, and/or other notification methods specified in the Notifications Setup form.
  2. In the Team To Send Notification To field, select the teams that will be receiving notifications (via To-Do, pop-up prompt, and/or other specified methods) for this compliance rule. Please note that this field is populated by entries in the Team Definition form. You must be added to these teams to be eligible for receiving notifications and you must be associated with a staff member.
  3. In the Notification Practitioner Category Filter field, choose users on the team to receive notifications, based on their practitioner category. For example, a team may consist of a registered nurse and a physician assistant. Selecting Registered Nurse will allow the system to send notifications only to staff members categorized as registered nurses in the Practitioner Enrollment form.
Please note that a blank selection will not filter the notifications. Notifications will be sent to all users on the team.
  4. When finished, click Submit.
