OrderConnect Prescription Items

Continue

• The selected OrderConnect prescription will be continued. No change will be made. A record will be entered stating that a medication order was reconciled.

Create New

Create a new entry for a medication item. The Type to Add field provides the following choices when creating a new item, depending on your prescribing rights:

• OrderConnect New Order
  • The OrderConnect Custom Orders screen launches upon reconciliation for you to complete and submit the prescriptions.
• OrderConnect Non-ISC Order
  • The OrderConnect Non-ISC item is created automatically in OrderConnect.
• Avatar Order Entry Order
  • The Avatar Order Entry Order screen launches upon reconciliation for you to complete and submit the orders.
• Avatar Home Medication
  • The home medication item will be created automatically and will appear in the Home Medication List section of this form.

The New Medication to Add column will either search using OrderConnect or the myAvatar Order Entry Medication catalog, depending on what is selected in the Type to Add field.

Create New (and Discontinue/Inactivate)

• This action allows you to create a new medication item while automatically discontinuing the OrderConnect prescription item on the grid that is being used for the reconciliation.

Defer

• Delays acting on the medication item until the next session The medication will display the next time you perform problem reconciliation. A record will be entered stating that a medication order was reconciled.

Discontinue/Inactivate

• The existing OrderConnect prescription will be discontinued in OrderConnect.
• The OrderConnect Order Confirmation screen displays at the time of reconciliation. You much select Accpet in order to compete the act of discontinuing the OrderConnect prescription.
• The order will not display in the Medication Reconciliation section.
