Nursing Caseload Assignment

You can create a user's caseload, and update the My Caseload frame on the Home Page. You can also move clients from a nurse's caseload to the current user's caseload. Clients from multiple units can be moved at one time.

A few things to remember: 

  • Only the currently logged on user can file this form. Changes can only be made to the currently logged in User ID.
  • This form allows the currently logged in user to select any Inpatient Unit and assign any patient in a bed to the currently logged in user's caseload. After selecting a unit, all patients in beds in that unit will become available for caseload assignment to the currently logged in user. Clients can be moved to the user caseload individually, or the entire unit of patients can be moved to the user's caseload.

Assign a Nursing Caseload

  1. Go to: Avatar CWS > CWS Utilities > Nursing Caseload Assignment
  2. The Currently Logged On User ID, and Currently Logged On User Description fields display the logged in user's ID and description.
  3. In the Include Clients Discharged Within This Number of Days field, enter the number of days.
  • This field filters which clients display in the Select Clients To Include In Current Caseload field.
  • The Include Clients Discharged Within This Number of Days Default Value For Nursing Caseload Assignment Form field (Set System Defaults form) must be defined.
  1. In the Select Clients From Unit field, select a unit.
  2. In the Select Clients To Include field, choose the clients.
  3. Click Move Selected Clients to shift the clients to the Current Caseload field.
  4. Click Move All Clients to shift all clients in the unit to the Current Caseload field.
  5. In the Current Caseload field, select the clients to be included in the caseload. This field shows all caseload assignments for the currently logged in user that were assigned through the Nursing Caseload Assignment form. The caseload assignments will show as checked. Unchecking a caseload assignment and filing the form will remove that caseload assignment from the currently logged in user's caseload.
  6. Click Clear/Release Entire Current Caseload to uncheck all caseload clients.
  7. Click Submit.
