Available actions for Home Medications

In the Action column the following actions are available:

These consist of the entries made into the Home Medication List or Avatar Order Entry History-Only active orders. Both types appear on the Home Medication List.

Continue

  • The existing myAvatar Home Medication item will be continued. No change will be made. A record will be entered stating that the myAvatar Home Medication Item was reconciled.

Create New

Creates a new entry for the medication item. The Type to Add field provides the following choices when creating a new item, depending on your prescribing rights:

  • OrderConnect New Order
    • The OrderConnect Custom Orders screen will launch upon reconciliation for you to complete and submit the prescriptions.
  • OrderConnect Non-ISC Order
    • The OrderConnect Non-ISC item will automatically be created in OrderConnect.
  • Avatar Order Entry Order
    • The myAvatar Order Entry Order screen will launch upon reconciliation for you to complete and submit the orders.

The New Medication to Add column will either search using OrderConnect or the myAvatar Order Entry Medication catalog, depending on what is selected in the Type to Add field. 

Create New (and Discontinue/Inactivate)

  • This action allows you to create a new medication item while automatically discontinuing the Non-ISC medication item on the grid that is being used for the reconciliation. 

Discontinue/Inactivate

  • The existing myAvatar Home Medication item will be inactivated in the Home Medication List automatically using the reconciliation date as the end date for the medication item.
  • The myAvatar Home Medication will not display in either the Medication Reconciliation section or the Home Medication List.
