Associated Practitioner Enhancements - ProviderConnect NX

This article describes a 2024 planned feature delivered through the myAvatar Product Roadmap. This information is subject to change.

What are we doing?

Creating a link between MSO Performing Providers and their Contracting Provider's ProviderConnect NX Defaults configuration to automate the creation and revision of Performing Provider associations.

Why are we doing it?

In ProviderConnect NX, all staff-type fields are filtered for an end user based on the logged in System Code/Contracting Provider and its configuration in ProviderConnect NX Defaults. In the ProviderConnect NX Defaults form, we currently require that each system code is configured with a list of associated Avatar (Cal) PM Practitioner Enrollment records. This helps limit staff field search results to return only the practitioners associated with the logged in user’s permissions. An enhancement has been requested to automate the association of  practitioners in ProviderConnect NX Defaults. Currently, ProviderConnect NX Defaults also requires a selection of an Associated Contracting Providers. The request is to use the Associated Contracting Providers to drive the staff field filtering based on the existing configuration in Contracting Provider Registration.

This enhancement will help make the maintenance of ProviderConnect NX Defaults more efficient as performing providers are created in myAvatar.

How are we doing it?

Creating a new registry setting and process to Enable Associated Practitioners Link in ProviderConnect NX. This new feature will assume that the existing registry setting Enable Practitioners link to Performing Providers is enabled. Each time a performing provider record is added or removed from Contracting Provider Registration, the same addition or removal will occur in the associated Contracting Provider's ProviderConnect NX Defaults configuration.
