Enable Subscriber Secondary ID Logic - Registry Setting

'Y' gives an end-user the ability to optionally make the following fields visible:

  • 'Enable Other Subscriber Secondary Reference Identification (2330A-REF-02) Logic' in the Guarantor/Program Billing Defaults form (837 Professional section).

  • 'Other Subscriber Secondary Identification (2330A-REF-02)' in the HCFA-1500/837P Maintenance Screen, and the Posting/Adjustment Codes Definition forms.

The following logic will also be enabled:

  • If no liability is distributed to a guarantor, and the client has a guarantor associated with financial classes 1 (HMO), 4 (Champus), 5 (Commercial), 7 (Medicare A), 8 (Medicare B) or 9 (Blue Cross):

'S' will populate in the 2330A-REF-02 segment, unless a value is entered in the 'Other Subscriber Secondary Identification (2330A-REF-02)' field in the HCFA-1500/837P Maintenance Screen form.

  • If a liability is transferred to the guarantor:

The 2330A-REF-02 segment will populate with the value in the 'Other Subscriber Secondary Identification (837-P-2330A-REF-02)' in the Posting/Adjustment Codes Definition form.

'N' disables the fields above and the associated logic.
