Allow Using ICD-9/ICD-9-CM Codes - Registry Setting

Define the type of lookup (ICD-9 diagnosis code, or ICD-9-CM code) used in the UB-92/UB-04/837I Billing Maintenance Screen form for the following fields:

  • Form Locator 77 (E-Code) (2300-HI:Principal, Admitting, E-Code and Patient Reason For Visit Diagnosis Information-03-2)

  • UB-04 Form Locator 72 (ECI)-A

  • UB-04 Form Locator 72 (ECI)-B

  • UB-04 Form Locator 72 (ECI)-C

'1' field will use ICD-9 diagnosis codes.

'2' field lookups will use ICD-9-CM procedure codes.

'3' field lookup for the 837I E-Code field will use ICD-9 diagnosis codes, field lookup for the UB-04 ECI fields will use ICD-9-CM procedure codes.

'4' field lookup for the 837I E-Code field will use ICD-9-CM procedure codes, the field lookup for the UB-04 ECI fields will use ICD-9 diagnosis codes.

If values have been filed for the above fields in the UB-92/UB-04/837I Billing Maintenance Screen form before this registry setting is changed will populate, and can be changed.
