State Form Format Builder
Combine multiple existing formats into a single custom format to be used on state form fields.
Create a custom format
- In the Option field, select Create New.
- In the Description field, enter a meaningful description.
Note: This description will appear when selecting the format in the Define Record Data Elements grid of State Form Definition. - In the Format 1 through Format 5 fields, select the formats to be combined.
Note: The formats will be applied in the order they are selected, so the order here is important. - Click Submit to save the custom format.
Result: It can now be selected in State Form Definition for any state form.
Edit a custom format
- For the Option field, select Edit.
- Under Select Existing Custom Format, select the format.
- In the Description field, modify the description if needed.
- In the Format 1 through Format 5 fields, select the formats to be combined.
- Click Submit to save the custom format.
Result: It can now be selected in State Form Definition for any state form.
Applying and Implementing Formats
Once the custom format is saved, the individual formats are applied in the order they are entered. Please note that the order can impact the results.
For example, if entering the Number 0-filled and Round to Nearest Whole Number formats with Number 0-filled applied first, the leading zeroes will be removed when Round to Nearest Whole Number is applied.
