Define the ODBC Connection.
ODBC is a way to connect to different databases and use them with an EHR. You can use ODBC to access and analyze myAvatar data, or to share and exchange data with other EHR systems or applications.
Note: The Additional ODBC Connections field displays ODBC connections.

Click Select New Connection. The Select Data Source screen displays. Select the connection, click Ok. - In the New Connection Name field, enter the connection database name.
- In the New Connection Username field, enter the ODBC connection.
Note: The basic guidelines for creating additional ODBC connections are:- myAvatar databases - enter the system code, and username, separated by a colon.
- Third party databases - the format is determined by that vendor.
- An example for a myAvatar database is:
- Connection Name – MYNAMESPACE
- Connection Username – SAMPLE:MYUSER
- Connection Password – mypassword

Click Add New Connection.
Remove ODBC connections

If appropriate, in the Select Connection for Removal field select the connection.

Click Remove Selected Connection.
