ICD-9-CM Procedure Code Definition - PM
Manage myAvatar ICD-9-CM and ICD-10 codes.
- The File Import form can be used to import ICD-9-CM code definitions. Once rules are imported, they can be edited in this form.
Note: For more information see the myAvatar PM File Import Record Layout document (for the product version).
- Go to: Avatar PM > System Maintenance > System Definition
- In the Add New or Edit Existing field, choose whether to Add or Edit the procedure code.
- When adding a new code, enter it into the Code field.
- When editing an existing code, select whether to search by Code or Description.
- In the ICD-9/ICD-10 Procedure Code field, enter the code or the definition to search for. Select the code from the drop-down menu.
- In the Procedure Code Type field, select whether this is an ICD-9 or ICD-10 code.
Note: ICD-10 codes can be associated with ICD-9 codes that are already loaded in the database. Enter the ICD-9 code in the Associated ICD-9 Procedure Code field. This field can be filtered to search by Code or by Description. - In the Definition field, add or edit the procedure code description.
- Set the Effective Date and Expiration Date for the code, if applicable.
- Designate whether or not the code should be Active. Inactive codes cannot be used in myAvatar forms.
- To prepare a report of the current codes in the database, click the Print ICD-9-CM Codes button.
- Click Submit to post the changes.
