FHIR Treatment Plan Current Status

In myAvatar the Treatment Plan Current Status field in Treatment Plan uses ONC status codes for FHIR API compliance and allows users to indicate whether the treatment plan is active, draft, on-hold, completed, entered in error, revoked, or unknown.

  • The Current Status will not be locked for editing when a plan is placed into Final status, allowing users to update the Current Status field on existing plans. To track the change history, changes to the Current Status will update the treatment plan table and file to a historical log/audit table.
  • When the treatment plan is in Draft, the Current Status is 'Draft'. When the treatment plan is Final, the Current Status auto-populates based on the Set Current Status to Active When Plan is Finalized registry setting.
  • If the Current Status is 'Active' after the End Date, the status may be automatically updated to 'Completed' based on the Set Current Status to Completed on Plan End Date registry setting.

Note: On the Set System Defaults form the Display Treatment Plans in Selection Leaf for the Selected ‘Current Status’ Codes field indicates the types of Current Status codes to display in the Treatment Plan Selection Leaf or the Treatment Plan Grid on Progress Notes. This field serves as an additional filter, meaning in order for the status to display on the Treatment Plan Selection Leaf, the treatment plan current status must align with the selection in the Display Treatment Plans in Selection Leaf for the Selected 'Current Status' Codes field.
