Automated 837 Status Section
View the status of automated 837 files, and define the defaults for error reporting.
- The 837 Automated Process picks up files in the order of date modified.
- In the Enable 837 Automated Processing field, select whether to enable 837 Institutional and/or 837 Professional files for automatic processing.
- The 837 Institutional Status field displays the current status for automatically processing 837I files.
- The 837 Professional Status field displays the current status for automatically processing 837P files.
- Click Update Status to refresh the 837 status fields if changes may have occurred since opening the form.
Error Reporting Defaults
- In the SMTP Server field, enter the SMTP server.
- In the E-mail From Address field, enter the address that error reporting messages will come from.
- In the E-mail From User ID field, enter the user ID associated with the E-mail From Address.
- In the E-mail From Password field, enter the password associated with the E-mail From Address.
- In the E-mail To (Comma-Delimited) field, enter the addresses to which error reporting messages will be sent. Multiple addresses should be separated by commas.
- Select whether or not to have the system Perform data validation check after automated process of an 837 file. When this field is set to Yes all 837 files will be validated to ensure that they are completed to the status based on the configuration of Import/Export File Configuration. It will check the following:
- All claims either Accepted and Posted, or Rejected
- Create 277 File
- Close Batch
- Create Voucher
- Create EOB
- Generate 835
If a file fails to reach one of these points then an email will be sent explaining where the file stopped processing. Only files automatically loaded after this setting is set to Yes will be validated.

When finished, click Submit.

When the 837 file is posted, the original file will be renamed using the suffix 'BACKUP'.

If the file contains errors, the process is stopped. Errors are exported to the directory in the Error File Path field. The original 837 file is renamed using the suffix INVALID.
