About User Definition and Identity Manager
Demographic fields that have been mapped using Identity Manager are populated when a user logs into myAvatar. These fields are updated every day, at the user's first login of the day.
This page describes the altered functionality of the User Definition form when using myAvatar Identity Manager.
Prerequisites:
- The Enable myAvatar Identity Manager registry setting must be set to Y or L.
myAvatar Identity Manager functionality takes the place of these fields:
- User ID
- Deactivate User
- System Generated Password
- Generate New Password
- Password Term Duration (Days)
- Allow User Renewal
- Reminder Notice Number of Days
User Definition section
The parent product uses the Identity Manager settings in the System Defaults form (Identity Manager Settings section), to access the Identity Manager server and to validate user identification.
Associate User to Network ID Through Identity Manager field options:

| Yes | Associates the user with an Identity Manager user. The User ID and User Description fields are disabled. Alternate lookups are not used to perform a user search. Alternate user lookups are managed in the RADplus form Client Lookup Configuration Manager (Alternate Lookups section). |

Supplemental section
The Supplemental section is visible in the User Definition form when the Include Supplemental Information Within User Definition field is set to Yes, in the System Security Defaults form.
Use this section to view user demographic data.
The following fields are mapped to the myAvatar Identity Manager:
- Home Street Address 1
- Organization Email Address
- Department
Note: These fields are disabled and cannot be edited in myAvatar. Instead, they are managed through the myAvatar Identity Manager.
