CPT Place of Service Override - Cal-PM

Define an override for place of service in the 837 Professional and paper HCFA bills. Place of service is located in the 837 Professional (2300-CLM 05 and 2400-SV1 05), and in the paper HCFA (form locator 24-B).

Prerequisites:

  1. Go to: Avatar PM > System Maintenance > System Definition > Service Code Maintenance > CPT Place of Service Override
  2. In the Financial Class Selection field, choose the appropriate financial class(es).
  3. In the Guarantor field, select the relevant guarantor(s).
  4. In the Treatment Setting Selection field, specify the treatment setting(s).
  5. In the Program field, select the program(s) for the override.
    Note: This is the program of admission and not the program of service.
  6. In the All or Individual Service Code field, specify whether the override should apply to all service codes or just one individual code. If Individual, select the specific code in the Service Code field.
  7. In the All or Individual CPT Code fields, specify whether the override should apply to all CPT codes or just one individual code. If Individual, select the specific code in the CPT Code field.
  8. In the All or Individual Location field, specify whether the override should apply to all locations or just one specific location. If Individual, select the specific place from the Location drop-down list.
  9. In the Place of Service (HCFA 24-B) field, select the place of service for use on the paper HCFA bill.
  10. In the Place of Service (837 Professional) field, select the place of service for use on the 837 Professional bill.
  11. Click the Display CPT Place of Service Overrides button field to display a CPT Place of Service Overrides report.
  12. Click Submit.
