Consent for Access - External Network
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
  • Dictionary Update (PM)
  • Consent For Access
Scenario 1: Dictionary Update - Client file - Add/Edit/Print dictionary
Steps
  1. Open the 'Dictionary Update' form.
  2. Select 'Client' in the 'File' field.
  3. Select 'Location' in the 'Data Element' field.
  4. Enter desired code to the 'Dictionary Code' field. Note the code.
  5. Enter desired value to the 'Dictionary Value' field. Note the value.
  6. Enter in extended data elements as necessary.
  7. Click [Apply Changes].
  8. Validate that the 'Information' dialog contains 'Filed!'.
  9. Click [OK].
  10. Select 'Print Dictionary' section.
  11. Select 'Client' in the 'File' field.
  12. Select 'Individual Data Element' radio button.
  13. Select 'Location Status' from the 'Data Element' field.
  14. Click [Print Dictionary].
  15. Review the report.
  16. Verify the dictionary codes / values added in previous step display correctly.
  17. Close the report.
  18. Select 'Input Dictionary Code(s)' section.
  19. Verify the 'File' field contains 'Client'.
  20. Verify the 'Data Element' is set to the 'Location'.
  21. Select desired code which is added in previous step in the 'Dictionary Code' field.
  22. Verify the correct 'Dictionary Value' displays for the selected code.
  23. Update the value in the 'Dictionary Value' field.
  24. Click [Apply Changes].
  25. Validate that the 'Information' dialog contains 'Filed!'.
  26. Click [OK].
  27. Select 'Print Dictionary' section.
  28. Select 'Client' in the 'File' field.
  29. Select 'Individual Data Element' radio button.
  30. Select 'Location' from the 'Data Element' field.
  31. Click [Print Dictionary].
  32. Review the report.
  33. Verify the dictionary codes / values updated in previous step display correctly.
  34. Close the report.
  35. Close the form.
  36. Open the "Scheduling Calendar" form.
  37. Select an open time slot on the calendar and RightClick.
  38. Select "Add Appointment" from the dropdown.
  39. Note that the "Location" field contains the dictionary code(s)/value(s) entered in previous steps.
Scenario 2: "Consent for Access" form - Consent on External Network section
Specific Setup:
  • An existing client must be identified, Client A.
Steps
  1. Open the 'Consent For Access' form for the client identified in the setup section.
  2. Select the "External Network" section.
  3. Click [Add New Item].
  4. Select "Network" in the 'Consent for' field.
  5. Select the desired network in the 'Network' field.
  6. Select "Grant" in the 'Consent to Opt In/Opt Out' field.
  7. Validate no warning message is displayed.
  8. Enter the desired date in the 'Start Date' field.
  9. Click [Add New Item].
  10. Select "Organization" in the 'Consent for' field.
  11. Select the desired organization in the 'Organization' field.
  12. Select "Grant" in the 'Consent to Opt In/Opt Out' field.
  13. Validate a "Warning" message is displayed stating: "Granting individual consent to an organization includes the granting of access to information covered under the 42 CFR Part 2. Do you want to continue?" Please note: This message will only be displayed when selecting "Grant" consent for an organization or referral provider.
  14. Click [Yes].
  15. Enter the desired date in the 'Start Date' field.
  16. Click [Submit].
  17. Access Crystal Reports or other SQL Reporting tool.
  18. Create a report using the 'SYSTEM.consent_for_access' table.
  19. Validate two rows are displayed for the consent records filed in the previous steps - One for Network and one for Organization. Validate all information is displayed correctly.
  20. Select the client identified in setup section and access the 'Consent For Access' form.
  21. Select the "External Network" section.
  22. Select one of the records created in the previous steps.
  23. Click [Edit Selected Item].
  24. Enter any new value in the 'Start Date' field.
  25. Click [Submit].
  26. Access Crystal Reports or other SQL Reporting tool.
  27. Refresh the report using the SYSTEM.consent_for_access table.
  28. Navigate to row associated to the consent record updated in the previous steps.
  29. Validate the 'data_entry_by' field contains the user who updated the record.
  30. Validate the 'data_entry_date' field contains the date the record was updated.
  31. Validate the 'data_entry_time' field contains the time the record was updated.
  32. Validate the 'start_date' field contains the new date.
  33. Close the report.
  34. Create a new report using the SYSTEM.audit_consent_for_access table.
  35. Validate a row is displayed for the consent record updated in the previous steps.
  36. Validate the 'PATID' field contains 'Client A' ID.
  37. Validate the 'audit_data_entry_section' field contains "Updated".
  38. Validate the 'audit_data_entry_by' field contains the user who updated the record.
  39. Validate the 'audit_date' field contains the date the record was updated.
  40. Validate the 'audit_time' field contains the time the record was updated.
  41. Validate the 'start_date' field contains the original start date filed, not the updated date.
  42. Validate all other fields contain the original data for the consent record.
  43. Close the report.
