Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
  • Admission
  • eMAR
  • Frequency Code Setup
  • Order Entry Console
  • Orders This Episode
  • Pre Admit
  • Registry Settings (PM)
Scenario 1: Orders This Episode - Pre Admit mode - Activation of one time only orders with and without Give Initial Dose Now
Specific Setup:
  • There must be no configuration in the 'External Pharmacy Setup' form.
  • The 'Avatar Order Entry->Facility Defaults->Client Profile->->->Defer Activation of Orders in a Pre-Admit Episode' must be set to "Y".
  • Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
  • The following frequency codes must exist:
  • Frequency Code A = "One Time Only with Give Initial Dose Now"
  • 'Routine or PRN(As Needed)' = "Routine"
  • 'One Time Only' = "Yes"
  • 'Default Give Initial Dose Now' = "Yes"
  • 'Interval Frequency' = "No"
  • 'Daily Administration' = "Daily"
  • 'Times/24 Hours' = "1"
  • Frequency Code B - "One Time Only at 08:00 AM"
  • 'Routine or PRN(As Needed)' = "Routine"
  • 'One Time Only' = "Yes"
  • 'Default Give Initial Dose Now' = "No", will default to this selection
  • 'Interval Frequency' = "No"
  • 'Daily Administration' = "Daily"
  • 'Times/24 Hours' = "1"

  • A client must be admitted into a pre-admit episode. (Client A)
  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
  • Please Note: For testing purposes you do NOT have to use the same pharmacy-type order codes as were used in the test case.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the Order Entry Console.
  2. Search for and select "LISINOPRIL 30 MG TABLET ORAL" in the 'New Order' field.
  3. Set the 'Dose' field to "1".
  4. Select "Tablet" in the 'Dose Unit' field.
  5. Select "One Time Only with Give Initial Dose Now" in the 'Freq' field.
  6. Set the 'Duration' field to "10" and click [Days].
  7. Click [Add to Scratchpad].
  8. Search for and select "FUROSEMIDE 20 MG TABLET ORAL" in the 'New Order' field.
  9. Set the 'Dose' field to "1".
  10. Select "Tablet" in the 'Dose Unit' field.
  11. Select "One Time Only at 08:00 AM" in the 'Freq' field.
  12. Set the 'Duration' field to "10" and click [Days].
  13. Click [Add to Scratchpad].
  14. Search for and select "TYLENOL 325 MG TABLET ORAL" in the 'New Order' field.
  15. Set the 'Dose' field to "1".
  16. Select "Tablet" in the 'Dose Unit' field.
  17. Select "One Time Only" in the 'Freq' field.
  18. Set the 'Duration' field to "10" and click [Days].
  19. Click [Add to Scratchpad].
  20. Search for and select "XANAX 1 MG TABLET ORAL" in the 'New Order' field.
  21. Set the 'Dose' field to "1".
  22. Select "Tablet" in the 'Dose Unit' field.
  23. Select "One Time Only at 09:00 PM" in the 'Freq' field.
  24. Set the 'Duration' field to "10" and click [Days].
  25. Click [Add to Scratchpad] and [Sign].
  26. Validate the 'Interactions' dialog is displayed.
  27. Override all interactions and click [Save Override and Exit].
  28. Validate the 'Order grid' contains the following:
  29. The "XANAX" order with a 'Start Date' of "01/01/2099" and a 'Stop Date' of "01/11/2099" in NX and "01/10/2099" in myAvatar. (The correct value is "01/10/2099" and this will be fixed with a future update for NX.)
  30. The "TYLENOL" order with a 'Start Date' of "01/01/2099" and a 'Stop Date' of "01/10/2099".
  31. The "FUROSEMIDE" order with a 'Start Date' of "01/01/2099" and a 'Stop Date' of "01/11/2099" in NX and "01/10/2099" in myAvatar. (The correct value is "01/10/2099" and this will be fixed with a future update for NX.)
  32. The "LISINOPRIL" order with a 'Start Date' of the current date and a 'Stop Date' that is 10 days in the future of the current date. (This will be fixed with Avatar OE 2023 Update 11, which will be released in the near future.)
  33. Access the 'Admission' form for "Client A".
  34. Select the existing episode and click [Edit].
  35. Select an inpatient program in the 'Program' field.
  36. Populate all required fields and click [Submit].
  37. Access the Order Entry Console.
  38. Select any other existing client and wait for their orders to display.
  39. Select "Client A".
  40. Validate that [Activate] is displayed.
  41. Click [Activate].
  42. Validate the 'Order grid' contains the following:
  43. The "XANAX" order with a 'Start Date' that is equal to the current date (activation date) and a 'Stop Date' that is 10 days in the future of the 'Start Date'.
  44. The "TYLENOL" order with a 'Start Date' that is equal to the current date (activation date) and a 'Stop Date' that is 10 days in the future of the 'Start Date'.
  45. The "FUROSEMIDE" order with a 'Start Date' that is equal to tomorrow's date (the day after the activation date) and a 'Stop Date' that is 10 days in the future of the 'Start Date'.
  46. The "LISINOPRIL" order with a 'Start Date' that is equal to the current date and a 'Stop Date' that is 10 days in the future of the 'Start Date'. (This order will not be activated due to the issue described in step 8d.)
  47. Access the 'eMAR' widget.
  48. Validate the 'LISINOPRIL' order has a 'Start Date' of the current date and a 'Start Time' that is the time the order was created rounded up to the nearest half hour/hour.
  49. Validate the 'FUROSEMIDE' order has a 'Start Date' of the tomorrow's date (the day after the activation date) with a 'Start Time' of "0800", which is the next administration time.
  50. Validate the 'TYLENOL' order has a 'Start Date' of the current date (activation date) with a 'Start Time' of the activation time.
  51. Validate the 'XANAX' order has a 'Start Date' of the current date (activation date) with a 'Start Time' of "2100", which is the next administration time.
