Include Ability to Prevent Admission Medication Reconciliation if Home Medications is Not Documented
The registry setting 'Prevent Admission Med Reconciliation if med history not completed on Home Meds' is added. If this setting is set to "Y", then a new checkbox prompt called 'Medication history reviewed and completed for Episode ###' will be available in the Order Entry Console (Home Medications section), and Admission Med Reconciliation will be prevented unless that new checkbox prompt is checked. OE NX - NADEAN
The Order Entry Console (Home Medications and Discharge Med Reconciliation sections, and Orders This Episode and Admission Med Reconciliation sections when in "external pharmacy mode") is enhanced to support recent changes to NADEAN regulatory requirements. Until recently, some medications (those containing buprenorphine) could be prescribed only by practitioners who had a NADEAN. (The NADEAN for the 'Ordering Practitioner' is stored within and supplied by OrderConnect during the ordering process.) Recent regulatory changes now allow buprenorphine-containing medications to be prescribed by practitioners who do not have a NADEAN, if the medication is being prescribed for pain rather than for addiction treatment or detox. In the Order Entry Console, all such medications now require the user to indicate a 'Reason' for the order. The prescriber does not need to have a NADEAN in order to use "eRx" for such medications if the 'Reason' ('Reason Code' or 'Reason Text') contains the word "pain" (case-insensitive). Note: A myAvatar Client Update or upgrade must also be installed to fully enable these changes.
Value Added: Order Entry has been enhanced to support recent NADEAN regulatory requirements

OE NX - Order Entry Console - Copy SSI Instr. into 'Directions' field.
The registry setting 'Copy SSI Instr. into 'Directions' in OE Console (OTE in external pharmacy mode)' is added. If this registry setting is set to "Y", then the Sliding Scale Insulin instructions formatted text will be copied into the 'Directions' field when creating a new order in "external pharmacy mode" in the Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section). These SSI instructions will utilize the newly-added 'Period X Short Column Name' fields from the 'Sliding Scale Insulin Template Setup' form (when populated), in preference to the 'Period X Column Name' fields from that form.
Value Added: Allows the Sliding Scale Instructions to be copied into the 'Directions' field in the Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode and Admission Reconciliation sections) when in external pharmacy mode.

Avatar OE - No Known Allergy/No Known Drug Allergy - Interaction Warnings
Avatar OE is enhanced so that when clinical screening is performed via Micromedex CKO Server for a client who has either "No Known Allergies" or "No Known Drug Allergies" recorded as an allergy, the warning "Currently this patient has reported no known allergies. No allergy screens were conducted" (which must be overridden) is no longer presented for every pharmacy-type order.
Value Added: An unnecessary, repetitive warning that must be overridden is no longer shown when a client has either "No Known Allergies" or "No Known Drug Allergies" recorded as an allergy.

Order Entry Console - 'Prevent Entry of Auto-DC Order Types When Active Order Exists'
The field 'Prevent Entry of Auto-DC Order Types When Active Order Exists?' is added to the 'Order Code Setup' form. Previous development provided functionality in the Order Entry Console (Orders This Episode section) to automatically discontinue existing active client orders when a new order is placed, based on the 'Automatic Discontinuation of Order Types' attribute of the 'Order Code' being used for the new order. Now, when the new 'Order Code' attribute 'Prevent Entry of Auto-DC Order Types When Active Order Exists?' is set to "Yes", users will be warned when placing an order that would conflict with a prior order, when the prior order's 'Order Code' is defined to automatically discontinue the orders that have the new order's 'Order Type' (based on the 'Order Code' attribute 'Automatic Discontinuation of Order Types').
Value Added: Enhances the Order Entry Console to warn a user prior to automatically discontinuing an order.

Avatar Order Entry - Multi Lab Tests
Avatar OE is enhanced in the following ways: 1) Support is added for sending multiple laboratory orders in a single requisition for laboratory vendors who support it (for example: Labcorp and Quest). Note: This feature requires Avatar CareFabric 2022 Update 64, Avatar CWS 2022 Update 86 and must be enabled via the new registry setting 'Enable Order Message Queue and Multi-Test Lab Orders'. 2) Additional configuration options are available for laboratory order interfaces via the 'External Lab/Radiology Definition For CareConnect' form. 3) Laboratory orders that are configured for recurring orders interface processing will produce new order messages for scheduled collections in scenarios where the order's 'Start Date/Time' is prior to the current date/time.
Value Added: Avatar Order Entry is enhanced to support Multi Lab tests

'Avatar eMAR - Administration Follow-Ups Generated By Reason Code'
Avatar OE is enhanced to support 'Follow-Up Reminders' for an 'Administration Event' within Avatar eMAR being generated based upon an order's 'Reason Code'. This is achieved via three new extended attributes off of the 'Reason Code Setup' dictionary (Order Entry Tabled Files, data element 504): 'Generate eMAR Follow-Up Reminders', 'Time Interval For eMAR Follow-Up Reminder (Minutes)', and 'eMAR Follow-Up Reminder Heading'. Note: Avatar eMAR 2022 Update 16 must also be installed in order to make use of this functionality.
Value Added: Allows the ability to define Reason Codes for which a follow-up should be generated after an administration.

Support for the 'Treat as Allergy Type' field in the 'Allergen/Reactant Code Setup' form is added with Avatar CWS 2022 Update 92.

Changed (2)
Activate Pre-Authorized Orders - Hours of Administration for Routine Orders
The 'Activate Pre-Authorized Orders' form is enhanced to allow it to be used for a "Routine" pre-authorized order that is of an 'Order Type' that has the extended attribute 'Require Hours of Administration for Routine Orders' set to require 'Hours of Administration'. With this enhancement, the 'Hours of Administration' from the 'Frequency Code' used on the specific pre-authorized order are now used when creating the actual order via "activation". Therefore the 'Frequency Codes' that are used for "Routine" pre-authorized orders will need to be defined with 'Hours of Administration' (and potentially with the "correct" number of 'Hours of Administration') in order to support this functionality.
Value Added: With this enhancement, the 'Hours of Administration' from the 'Frequency Code' used on the specific pre-authorized order are now used when creating the actual order via "activation".
