Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
  • Admission (Outpatient)
  • Scheduling Calendar
Scenario 1: 'Scheduling Calendar' - Add New Appointment
Specific Setup:
  • A client is enrolled in an existing episode (Client A).
  • A practitioner must be defined with hours for scheduling (Practitioner A).
  • The logged in user must have access to the 'Registry Settings' form.
  • The 'Disable Scheduling Calendar Auto-Refresh' registry setting must be enabled.
Steps
  1. Access the 'Scheduling Calendar' form.
  2. Right click in any available time slot for "Practitioner A" and click [Add Appointment].
  3. Select "Client A" in the 'Client' field.
  4. Select any service code in the 'Service Code' field.
  5. Validate the program and location field are populated.
  6. Click [Submit].
  7. Validate the 'Appointment Grid' contains the appointment for "Client A".
  8. Right click on the appointment for "Client A" and select "Delete".
  9. Validate a 'Delete Appointment' dialog displays stating: "Are you sure?"
  10. Click [Yes].
  11. Validate the 'Appointment Grid' updates and does not display the appointment for "Client A".
  12. Click [Dismiss].
  13. Access the 'Registry Settings' form.
  14. Enter "Disable Scheduling Calendar Auto-Refresh" in the 'Limit Registry Setting to the Following Search Criteria' field.
  15. Select "Yes" in the 'Include Hidden Registry Settings' field.
  16. Click [View Registry Settings].
  17. Enter "N" in the 'Registry Setting Value' field.
  18. Click [Submit].
  19. Validate a 'Registry Editor Filing' dialog and click [OK] and [No].
  20. Access the 'Scheduling Calendar' form.
  21. Right click in any available time slot for "Practitioner A" and click [Add Appointment].
  22. Select "Client A" in the 'Client' field.
  23. Select any service code in the 'Service Code' field.
  24. Validate the program and location field are populated.
  25. Click [Submit].
  26. Validate the 'Appointment Grid' contains the appointment for "Client A".
  27. Right click on the appointment for "Client A" and select "Delete".
  28. Validate a 'Delete Appointment' dialog displays stating: "Are you sure?"
  29. Click [Yes].
  30. Validate the 'Appointment Grid' updates and does not display the appointment for "Client A".
  31. Click [Dismiss].
Scenario 2: Scheduling Calendar - Add Individual/Group/Staff Recurring Appointments
Specific Setup:
  • A client must be enrolled in an existing episode (Client A).
  • A group must be defined with two or more clients (Group A).
  • A staff-only service code must be defined (STAFF).
  • A practitioner must be defined with hours for scheduling (Practitioner A).
Steps
  1. Access the 'Scheduling Calendar' form.
  2. Right click in any available time slot for "Practitioner A" and click [Add Appointment].
  3. Select "Client A" in the 'Client' field.
  4. Select the desired individual service code in the 'Service Code' field.
  5. Select "Weekly" in the 'Recurrence Schedule' field.
  6. Select "No End" in the 'Recurrence Pattern' field.
  7. Click [Submit].
  8. Validate the 'Appointment Grid' contains the individual appointment for "Client A".
  9. Right click in any available time slot for "Practitioner A" and click [Add Appointment].
  10. Enter the desired group service code in the 'Service Code' field.
  11. Select "Group A" in the 'Group #' field.
  12. Select the desired location in the 'Location' field.
  13. Select the desired program in the 'Program' field.
  14. Select "Weekly" in the 'Recurrence Schedule' field.
  15. Select "No End" in the 'Recurrence Pattern' field.
  16. Click [Submit].
  17. Validate the 'Appointment Grid' contains the individual appointment for "Client A" & the group appointment for "Group A".
  18. Right click in any available time slot for "Practitioner A" and click [Add Appointment].
  19. Enter "STAFF" in the 'Service Code' field.
  20. Select the desired location in the 'Location' field.
  21. Select the desired program in the 'Program' field.
  22. Select "Weekly" in the 'Recurrence Schedule' field.
  23. Select "No End" in the 'Recurrence Pattern' field.
  24. Click [Submit].
  25. Validate the 'Appointment Grid' contains the individual appointment for "Client A", the group appointment for "Group A", and the staff-only appointment for "Practitioner A".
  26. Select the "Month' view.
  27. Validate the weekly recurring appointments for "Client A", "Group A", and "Practitioner A" are displayed each week.
  28. Click [Dismiss].

Specific Setup:
  • Have a client enrolled in an active episode (Client A).
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the 'Treatment Plan' form.
  2. Populate all the required fields.
  3. Click [Launch Plan].
  4. Click [Add New Problem].
  5. Select any value in the 'Problem Code' field.
  6. Select “Active” in the ‘Status (Problem List)’ field.
  7. Enter the desired value in the 'Problem' field.
  8. Select "Active" in the 'Status' field.
  9. Enter the desired date in the 'Date Of Onset' field.
  10. Validate clicking in the whitespace next to the date field does not update the date.
  11. Use the arrows to update the date in the 'Date Of Onset' field and validate the date updates accordingly.
  12. Enter the desired date in the 'Date Opened' field.
  13. Validate clicking in the whitespace next to the date field does not update the date.
  14. Use the arrows to update the date in the 'Date Opened' field and validate the date updates accordingly.
  15. Enter the desired date in the 'Date Due' field.
  16. Validate clicking in the whitespace next to the date field does not update the date.
  17. Use the arrows to update the date in the 'Date Due' field and validate the date updates accordingly.
  18. Enter the desired date in the 'Date Closed' field.
  19. Validate clicking in the whitespace next to the date field does not update the date.

Scenario 1: Avatar NX - Send To Do Notification - 'Escalate To Do Item' functionality
Specific Setup:
  • A client must be enrolled in an existing episode (Client A).
  • There must be three users (User A, User B, and User C).
  • All users must have the 'My To Do's' widget configured to the myDay view.
  • "User A" must have sent a 'To Do' for "Client A" to "User B" using the 'Send To Do Notification' form.
  • "User A" and "User C" are logged in.
Steps
  1. As "User A", navigate to the 'My To Do's' widget.
  2. Validate there is a 'Send To Do Notification' To Do for "Client A" with the action of "Escalate To Do Item" in the 'Sent & Not Reviewed' field.
  3. Click [Escalate To Do Item].
  4. Validate the 'Escalate To Do Item' form opens populated with the expected data in the 'To Do Information' field.
  5. Enter and select "User C" in the 'Select User' field.
  6. Click [Add User].
  7. Validate the 'Send To' field contains "User C".
  8. Select the checkbox next to "User C".
  9. Enter the desired value in the 'Note' field.
  10. Click [Submit].
  11. Validate a 'Send To Do' dialog stating: "To Do sent." and click [OK].
  12. Close and reopen the 'My To Do's' widget.
  13. Validate there is an 'Escalate To Do Item' To Do for "Client A" in the 'Sent & Not Reviewed' field.
  14. Validate the action for this one is "Escalate To Do Item".
  15. Close the To Dos.
  16. Switch to "User C", validate a 'Confirm' dialog stating: "There are one or more new items within your Workflow Management To Do List." and click [OK].

  • There must be two users (User A and User B).
  • "User A" must have access to the 'Send To Do Notification' form.
  • Both users must have the 'My To Do's' widget on their myDay view and be logged in.
Steps
  1. As "User A", access the 'Send To Do Notification' form.
  2. Select "Client A" in the 'Client' field.
  3. Select the desired value in the 'Priority' field.
  4. Select the desired value in the 'To Do Category' field.
  5. Enter the desired date in the 'Due Date' field.
  6. Enter the desired value in the 'To Do Message' field.
  7. Enter the desired value in the 'Detailed Message' field.
  8. Enter and select "User B" in the 'Select User' field.
  9. Click [Add User].
  10. Validate the 'Send To' field contains "User B".
  11. Select the checkbox next to "User B".
  12. Select "Yes" in the 'Notify Sender When To Do Item Is Reviewed?' field.
  13. Click [File To Do].

Steps
  1. Access the 'Group Registration' form.
  2. Enter any new value in the 'Select Group' field.
  3. Click [New Group].
  4. Click [Yes] on the 'Auto Assign Next ID Number?' dialog.
  5. Validate the 'Group Registration' form is displayed with a form header containing: NEW APPOINTMENT GROUP FILE (ID#).
  6. Enter the desired value in the 'Group Name' field.
  7. Enter the desired date in the 'Group Registration Date' field.
  8. Populate any other required and desired fields.
  9. Click [Submit].
  10. Access the 'Group Registration' form.
  11. Search for and select the group filed in the previous steps in the 'Select Group' dialog.
  12. Validate the 'Group Registration' form is displayed with all previously filed data.
  13. Validate the form header is displayed containing the value filed in the 'Group Name' field with the Group ID#.
  14. Close the form.
Scenario 2: Site Registration - Add a site with hours of operation
Steps
  1. Access the 'Site Registration' form.
  2. Enter any value in the 'Select Site' field (Site A).

  5. Click [Yes].
  6. Validate the 'Site Registration' form is displayed with a form header containing: NEW SITE (ID#).

Scenario 1: Avatar NX - Validate copy/paste functionality when the ability to replace special characters is enabled
Specific Setup:
  • Please note this is for Avatar NX systems.
  • A client must be enrolled in an existing episode (Client A)
  • Must have a word document that contains a special control character (Document A).
  • Replacing special character with accepted characters must be enabled (this is the default setting). To disable this functionality, please contact your Netsmart Representative.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A" and access the 'Treatment Plan' form.
  2. Select the desired episode and click [Add] if applicable.
  3. Copy the text from "Document A" .
  4. Press "Ctrl + V" in the 'Plan Name' field.
  5. Validate the special character is replaced.
  6. Highlight the text in "Document A".
  7. Drag the text into the 'Weaknesses' field.
  8. Validate the special character is replaced.
  9. Populate all required fields.
  10. Click [Launch Plan].
  11. Click [Add New Problem].
  12. Drag the text from "Document A" to the 'Problem' field.
  13. Validate the special character is replaced.
  14. Continue pasting into the desired text fields and validate the special character is replaced.
  15. Click [Return to Plan] and [OK].
  16. Close the form.
  17. Access the 'Progress Notes (Group and Individual)' form undocked.
  18. Click the 'Notes Field'.
  19. Right-click and select 'Paste'.
  20. Validate the special character is replaced.

  6. Enter the desired value in "Field B".
  7. Validate "Field C" is enabled and required.
  8. Enter the desired value in "Field C".
  9. Populate any other required and desired fields.
  10. Click [Submit].
  11. Select "Client A" and access "Form A".
  12. Select the record filed in the previous steps and click [Edit].

Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:

Scenario 1: OE NX - Orders This Episode - New Order (by Nurse who requires validation), Validation by Prescriber
Specific Setup:
  • The 'RADplus->General->->->->Default Value for Console View Episodes' registry setting must be set to "1". NOTE: This is a Netsmart Staff only registry setting. Please contact your Netsmart representative to have this setting configured.
  • Please log out of the application and log back in after completing the above configuration.
  • Two users must exist in the application: One whose actions require validation (User A) and One whose actions do not require Validation (User B).
  • A client must have an active episode whose program or unit are configured in the 'External Pharmacy Setup' form. (Client A)
  • “Client A” must have a ‘Date of Birth’, ‘Sex’ and address on file in the ‘Update Client Data’ form, as well as information filed in the ‘Allergies and Hypersensitivities’ form, ‘Diagnosis’ form, and in the ‘Height’ and ‘Weight’ fields in the ‘Vitals Entry’ form.
  • "User A" must be logged into the application.
Steps
  1. Select "Client A”.
  2. Validate the 'Header Episode' field contains "All Episodes".
  3. Select the most current episode from the 'Header Episode' field.
  4. Access the Order Entry Console and click 'Orders This Episode' tab.
  5. Make note of the number next to the "V" icon.
  6. Search for and select "Ritalin 5 MG Tablet Oral (Schedule II)" from the ‘New Order’ field.
  7. Populate all required fields and click [Add to Scratchpad].
  8. Search for and select the staff member associated with "User B" in the ‘Ordering Practitioner' field.
  9. Click [Sign].
  10. Validate the ‘Interactions' dialog is displayed.
  11. Override all interactions and click [Save Override and Exit].
  12. Validate the 'Final Review' dialog is displayed.
  13. Select "None" in 'Output' and click [Sign].
  14. Validate the ‘Order grid’ contains an order for "Ritalin” with an 'Order Status' of "Requires Validation".
  15. Log out of the application and log back in as "User B".
  16. Select "Client A”.
  17. Validate the 'Header Episode' field contains "All Episodes".
  18. Select the most recent active episode from the 'Header Episode' field.
  19. Access the Order Entry Console and click 'Orders This Episode' tab.
  20. Validate the number next to the "V" icon has increased by 1.
  21. Select the “Ritalin” order in the ‘Order grid’ and click [Validate].
  22. Validate the 'Final Review' dialog is displayed.
  23. Select "None" in 'Output' and click [Sign].
  24. Validate the 'Order grid' contains an order for "Ritalin" with a 'Status' of "Active".

Scenario 2: OE NX - Home Medications - Creating an order that requires validation and validating it via the V button
Specific Setup:
  • The user logged into the application must have the 'Client Reported' checkbox checked in the 'Default to Client Reported in Home Medications' field in 'Order Entry User Definition'.
  • The 'RADplus->General->->->->Default Value for Console View Episodes' registry setting must be set to "1". NOTE: This is a Netsmart Staff only registry setting. Please contact your Netsmart representative to have this setting configured.
  • Please log out of and back into the application after the above configuration has been completed.
  • Two users must exist in the application: One whose actions require validation (User A) and One whose actions do not require validation (User B).

  3. Take note of the number next to the "V" button.
  4. Uncheck the 'Client Reported' checkbox.
  5. Search for and select the staff member associated with "User B" in the 'Ordering Practitioner' field.
  6. Search for and select any value in the 'Program' field.
  7. Search for and select "Ambien 5 MG ORAL Tablet (Schedule IV)" in the 'New Order' field.
  8. Populate all required fields.
  9. Click [Add to Scratchpad].
  10. Search for and select the staff member associated with "User B".
  11. Click [Final Review].
  12. Validate the 'Final Review' dialog is displayed.
  13. Validate the 'Order Details' column contains all the order details pertaining to the order being created.
  14. Validate "Pending" is selected in 'Output' and click [Sign].
  15. Validate the 'Order grid' contains the order for "Ambien".
  16. Log out of the application and log into the application as "User B".
  17. Select "Client C" and access the Order Entry Console.
  18. Validate the 'Header Episode' field contains "All Episodes".
  19. Select the 'Home Medications' tab.
  20. Validate the number next to the 'V' button contains a number that has increased by 1.
  21. Click the 'V' button.
  22. Select the row for "Client A" and click [Validate].

  24. Select the order and click [Validate].
  25. Validate the 'Final Review' dialog is displayed.
  26. Select "None" in 'Output' and click [Sign].

Steps
  1. Access the 'Open Incident' form.
  2. Enter any new value in the 'Select Incident' field.
  3. Click [New Incident].
  4. Click [Yes] on the 'Auto Assign Next ID Number?' dialog.
  5. Validate the 'Open Incident' form is displayed with a form header containing: NEW INCIDENT FILE (ID#).
