An issue is resolved where 'ClientDeleted' messages were being sent for both the source and target clients after a client merge. KB0076913 v0.01
This update resolves an issue that was causing 'ClientDeleted' messages to be sent for both the source and target clients following a client merge. This was leading to confusion and potential data inconsistencies. With this update, 'ClientDeleted' messages will now only be sent for the source client, ensuring accurate client data representation. Please note that this update requires Avatar PM 2024 Update 46 to be installed for the changes to take effect.

Client Merge
Note - These testing guidelines assume the user is skilled in the use of, at a minimum, the following:
  • Admission (Outpatient)
  • Client Charge Input
  • Financial Eligibility
  • CareFabric Monitor
  • Client Ledger
  • Crystal Report Viewer
  • Home Medications
  • Registry Settings (PM)
  • Change MR#
Scenario 1: Validate 'Client Delete' submission.
Specific Setup:
  • Create a new client to test 'Client Delete'.
  • Give the client a financial eligibility record and a minimum of one service.
  • Use 'Delete Service (Open Service Only)' to delete all services.
  • Use 'Delete Last Movement' to delete the admission.
Steps
  1. Open "Client Delete" form.
  2. Click [OK] on 'Confirm' message.
  3. Enter the desired value in 'Client ID'.
  4. Click [Display Client].
  5. Validate that the report opens and contains the correct 'Client Name'.
  6. Close the report.
  7. Click [Submit].
  8. Enter the 'Client ID' in 'Client Search'. Validate that the 'No matches found, please refine search' message is received.
  9. Open "CareFabric Monitor" form.
  10. Enter current date in 'From Date'.
  11. Enter current date in 'Through Date'.
  12. Select 'ClientDeleted' in 'Event/Action Search'.
  13. Click [View Activity Log].
  14. Click [Click To View Record] on the 'Activity Type' of 'ClientDeleted'.
  15. Verify that the "id" = the 'Client ID' of the deleted client.
  16. Click [Close Report].
  17. Click [Discard] and click [Yes].
Scenario 2: CareFabric support of Client Merge
Specific Setup:
  • Registry Settings:
  • Allow Merging Into Existing Episode = Y.
  • Allow Merging Of All Client Data Through Single Filing = Y
  • Clients:
  • Client 1: Note the admission date, program, program code and episode number. Note other information about the client, such as services and clinical information.
  • Client 2: Note the admission date and program. Note other information about the client, such as services and clinical information.
Steps
  1. Open "Client Merge" form.
  2. Select 'Client 2' in the 'Source Client' field.
  3. Select desired value in the 'Merge All Client Data Through Single Filing' field.
  4. If 'No' was selected, select the 'Source Client Episode'.
  5. If 'Yes' was selected, all episodes will be included.
  6. Select 'Client 1' in the 'Target Client' field.
  7. Click [File].
  8. Click [Yes] when the prompt "Do you wish to continue with the indicated action?" displays.
  9. Click [OK] when the prompt "The following episode was created for the target client indicated" displays.
  10. Click [Discard] and click [Yes].
  11. Open "CareFabric Monitor" form.
  12. Enter the current date in the 'From Date' field.
  13. Enter the current date in the 'Through Date' field.
  14. Set 'Event/Action Search' to 'ClientMergeCreated', 'Out'.
  15. Click [View Activity Log].
  16. Click [Click to View Record] for the 'Activity Type' of 'ClientMergeCreated'.
  17. Verify "destinationClientID" is equal to the target client, 'Client 1', used in the "Client Merge" form.
  18. Verify "sourceClientID" is equal to the source client, 'Client 2' used in the "Client Merge" form.
  19. Close the report.
  20. Set 'Event/Action Search' to 'ClientUpdated', 'Out'
  21. Click [View Activity Log].
  22. Verify that there is an 'Entity ID' entry for 'Client 1', the target client.
  23. Click [Click to View Record] for the 'Activity Type' of 'ClientUpdated'.
  24. Verify that the "ProgramCode" entry exists for all programs codes noted in setup, for both clients.
  25. Close the report.
  26. Verify that there is an 'Entity ID' entry for 'Client 2', the source client.
  27. Click [Click to View Record] for the 'Activity Type' of 'ClientUpdated'.
  28. Verify that the only "ProgramCode" entries were the programs codes for 'Client 2'.
  29. Close the report.
  30. As desired, search other items in 'Event/Action Search' and verify the results.
  31. Click [Discard] and click [Yes].
Scenario 3: CareFabric support of "Change MR#"
Specific Setup:
  • Create a new client to test "Change MR#".
  • Give the client a financial eligibility record and a minimum of one service.
  • Print the 'Client Ledger' to validate the service distribution. Save the report.
Steps
  1. Open "Change MR#" form.
  2. Select desired client 'Client ID' field.
  3. Click [Assign MR#].
  4. Click [Yes] in 'Auto Assign Next ID Number'.
  5. Verify the 'New Client ID#' field is populated with a new client ID.
  6. Click [Submit].
  7. Open "CareFabric Monitor" form.
  8. Enter the current date in the 'From Date' field.
  9. Enter the current date in the 'Through Date' field.
  10. Enter the new client ID in ''Client ID'.
  11. Click [View Activity Log].
  12. Click [Click to View Record] for the 'Activity Type' of 'ClientMergeCreated' with 'Option Description' of 'Change MR#'.
  13. Verify 'destinationClientID' is equal to the new client number created in the "Change MR#" form.
  14. Verify 'sourceClientID' is equal to the original client number selected in the "Change MR#" form.
  15. Click [Discard] and click [Yes].
  16. Open "Client Ledger" form.
  17. Search/Select the client using the new client ID number.
  18. Print the ledger report and validate that the only change in the report is the 'Client ID'.
  19. Click [Close] and click [No].
