Time Attributes for Creating Orders
Specify the time and frequency for administering the order.
- In the One Time Only field, select whether the order is for one time only.
- For the Times/24 Hour field, enter the number of times the order should be given in a 24-hour period.
- For the Daily Administration field, select whether the order should be given daily.
- If Not Daily is selected for the Daily Administration field, the Days Administered and Every Nth Day fields are enabled.
- Either select the days to administer the order in the Days Administered field, or enter the interval of days for administering the order in the Every Nth Day field.
- In the Hours of Administration fields, check the appropriate hours of administration (AM and/or PM) for administering the order. The number of time slots selected for the hours of administration must match the Times/24 hour value. For example, if BID is specified for a frequency code, users are allowed to select only two time slots.
The hours of administration are required for all routine orders for designated order types (such as medications). Exact administration times are required for orders sent to RxConnect and myAvatar eMAR. Use the Require Hours of Administration for Routine Orders extended attribute of the Order Types dictionary to specify whether to require hours of administration for routine orders. Enter "0" to not enforce rules for the hours of administration; enter "1" to require at least one hour of administration to be selected for routine orders of that order type; enter "2" to require at least one hour of administration to be selected and to require that the number of selections matches the Times/24 hours attribute for that order type.
