About Today’s E&M Appointments and Notes

Today's E&M Appointments/Notes in Medical Note provides a comprehensive overview of all scheduled appointments for the day, along with any notes that did not originate from a scheduled appointment.

Prerequisites:

To access Today’s E&M Appointments in Medical Note, you need:

  • Access to the Medical Note view in myAvatar
  • Appropriate Netsmart mobile app access
  • Appropriate Netsmart mobile app user role

For clients with started medical notes, you can choose to edit or delete the notes; for clients without a started note, you have the option to start a note. This list does not include finalized medical notes.

For nurses or medical assistants, Today's E&M Appointments/Notes display provider appointments and notes started without a scheduled appointment. These users need to select the providers they are working with for the day in order to display the respective appointments. Multiple providers can be chosen. Appointments led solely by a nurse, with the nurse as the designated provider, appear in the Today’s E/M Appointments/Notes section. A nurse can view both started and not started notes.

This table lists the information that appears in Today’s E&M Appointments/Notes.

Today's E&M Appointments/Notes field Description
Medical Note Version This is the version of Medical Note that your organization is currently using.
Today's E&M Appts/Notes This button is available within the Medical Note workflow to take you to Today’s E&M Appointments/Notes.
My Draft Notes This is a list of all draft notes associated with a specific provider.
Unreviewed Results (Provider only) This shows any unreviewed lab results.
Provider Search (Nurse/MA only) This  allows the Nurse or MA to search for the providers they are working under for that day.
Service Time This is the time the appointment is scheduled.
Check-In Time This is the time the client was checked in.
Client Name Select the Client Name to go to the client's Facesheet in Medical Note. 
Episode Number This is the patient episode. 
Location This is the location where the appointment is scheduled.
Service Code

This is the service code the appointment is scheduled under.

In cases where a note is in draft status and the provider has chosen a CPT code but not yet signed the note, the service code is updated to reflect the service code the provider selects.  

Program This is the program that the appointment is scheduled under.
Reason for Visit This is the reason for the visit, if indicated when the appointment was scheduled.
Appointment Status This is the appointment status from the scheduling calendar.
Room Number If using room numbers, select Add to enter a room number.
Action button

Start - Start the note.

Delete - Delete the draft note but not the appointment.
