Link to an External Calendar
Link a Microsoft Exchange, Gmail, or Outlook calendar to myAvatar so all appointments are visible.
Link a Microsoft Exchange calendar to myAvatar NX so all appointments are visible.
- The Scheduling Calendar supports Exchange or Gmail calendars.
- If you add Exchange, the system looks at your Exchange server to retrieve your calendar appointments. Wherever you are accessing myAvatar from, the system will be able to show your external appointments since it will always see the Exchange server.
- The MyCalendar widget supports Gmail or Outlook calendars.
- If you add Outlook, the system will look to your local workstation to retrieve your calendar. If you are accessing myAvatar from a different workstation where you do not have access to your own Microsoft Outlook, you will not see your external appointments.
- From the Home screen, click the Preferences menu or the Customize Widgets icon and navigate to the Calendar section.
- Click Add Source. You will be prompted with three choices: My Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, and Gmail.
- If you select My Outlook, just click Apply. You will see your appointments from your Outlook calendar in the My Calendar widget in the format:
"2:30pm [My Outlook] Pick up kids." - If you select Gmail, configure as follows: You will see your appointments from Google's mail server in the Scheduling Calendar in the format:
"2:30pm [My Outlook] Pick up kids." - If you select Microsoft Exchange:
- Configure the Exchange Web Services.
- From the Scheduling Calendar, check the Exchange appts box.
- Microsoft Exchange appointments are added to the color coding system. You will see your appointments from the Exchange server in the format:
"2:30 PM [Exchange] Pick up kids."
- If you select My Outlook, just click Apply. You will see your appointments from your Outlook calendar in the My Calendar widget in the format:
Calendar Preferences
- On the Calendar section of the Preferences screen, you have the ability to set a time limit for displaying personal Exchange appointments in the scheduling calendar. Enter the number of days to display the appointments in the Number of days to load Microsoft Exchange appointments into the Scheduling Calendar field.
- On the MyCalendar widget, you have the ability to add or remove personal appointments (if enabled) from the view by checking or unchecking the Show Personal Appointments box.
