Imaging Application Options

Imaging

The imaging application options control how images are stored within TheraOffice for patient images, and image notes. These options can help to reduce thegrowth of the TheraOffice database since image files can significantly increase the space needed for storage. TheraOffice uses Microsoft SQL Server which by default has a maximum limit of 4 Gigabytes of space. If the maximum limit of space is reached, patients can be archived, or another version of Microsoft SQL Server can be purchased. It is recommended that these options are set so that the database doesn't become full.

  • Force DPI For All Scanned Patient Images: After scanning a patientimage into TheraOffice the DPI will be set automatically to this amount. This can help to reduce the sizes of images prior to saving and resizing. To not set the DPI to a specific resolution, set this number to 0. Otherwise it is recommended this be set to 90, or 120.

  • Patient Image Size Must Be Less Than (KB): This is the maximum size in Kilobytes thatpatient images can be to saved into TheraOffice. If the size is larger, then the images may need to be reduced in DPI or resized before the user can save. This prevents accidental saving of large image files into TheraOffice. It is recommended that this be set to 100 (KB). To turn off this limit, set this to 0.
