Set up Patient Acuity Levels

Path: Administration>General>Patient Acuity Levels

  1. Go to Administration>General>Patient Acuity Levels.
  2. Add a new row.
  3. Enter the code for a new acuity level, up to 6 alphanumeric characters.
  4. Enter acuity level description, up to 36 alphanumeric characters.
  5. Select one of the following patient types:
  • A - All patient types
  • H - Home health patient (non-hospice)
  • Y - Hospice patient (homecare health or Medicare services)
  • O - Other patient (exclude from all Cost Reports)
  1. Specify the standard category of acuity level associated with this code in the Special Type column.
  2. Select the hybrid rate to associate with the acuity level, if applicable.
  3. Select the Default check box opposite the acuity level that will be used for new admissions by default.
  4. Select the benefit rate to associate with the acuity level (only for Hospice patients), if applicable.
  5. Save your changes.
