Configuring Patient Signature for Organization
Path: Administration>Configuration>Organizations>Patient Signature
- Go to Administration>Configuration>Organizations>Patient Signature. The Patient Signature window opens with the Enable Signature tab active.
- Select the check boxes next to the Business Units in your organization for which you want to enable patient signature.
- Select the Define Signature Purpose tab.
- Click Insert to add a new signature purpose. The Insert New Purpose window opens.
- Select the Active check box to make the new signature purpose active.
- Enter a title for the signature purpose, and the acknowledgment statement text in the cription field.
- Click OK.
- To edit an existing signature purpose, select an existing signature purpose on the grid and click Update. The Update Purpose window opens.
- Make your changes to the appropriate fields and click OK.
- Select the Apply Signature Purpose tab.
- Click to highlight a Business Unit on the left side of the screen.
- Select the check boxes next to the signature purpose titles on the right side of the screen that you want to make available to the selected Business Unit, or click Select All to select all signature purposes for the selected Business Unit.
- Select the Pick List tab.
- Select the check boxes beside the statements you want to appear in the drop-down lists for documenting the reason why a patient was unable or unwilling to sign or why clinician was unable to obtain a signature, as appropriate.
- Select the Signature Type tab.
- Select the check boxes in each column as appropriate next to each Business Unit in the grid to designate which types of signature are acceptable for each Business Unit: Full Name, Initials, and/or X (mark).
- Use the Select All or Clear All drop-down buttons to select or clear all of one kind of signature type for all Business Units on the grid.
- Save your changes.
