Schedule window
Path: Netsmart Homecare > Schedule
The Schedule component enables your agency to schedule patient visits and activities and non-patient related activities, and to define staff availability and on-call times.
- You can view calendars for selected patients and resources so that you can schedule visits using either the Patient or Staff modes.
- You can view daily, weekly, or monthly calendars for both and schedule events in all three calendars.
- How the Schedule window appears depends on the options you selected in Settings > Scheduling.
The application simplifies the process of selecting patients and resources in preparation for scheduling visits.
- When in Daily calendar mode, your agency can select one patient/resource or multiple patients/resources.
- The selection window enables your agency to view certain patients/resources only, such as a specific team or active versus inactive patients/resources.
- The Use List function (available when Multiple Resources/Patients is selected in Daily calendar mode only) enables you to select patients or resources from a pre-defined list of patients/resources selected according to criteria your agency defines.
- You can also create a list "on the fly."
The Staff Availability feature enables your agency to define when your resources and/or volunteers are available or unavailable for patient visits or activities.
- There are three types of shifts that your agency can define:
- Standard - The standard shifts are accessible for selection when defining availability for resources. Your agency can also assign groups of resources to a standard shift. Availability for those working a standard shift automatically carries forward from week to week
- Custom - Availability for those working a custom shift automatically carries forward from week to week
- Irregular - You must re-create irregular availability for each resource each week. An example of an irregular shift is a resource that works every other week.
When scheduling therapy visits, you may receive a message notifying that the visit should be performed by a qualified therapist.
The Verify function converts scheduled events into billable services.
Locked Services
Patients' visits that were started in Homecare Mobile Tablet are not available for any modifications in Netsmart Homecare (Host Mode) for subsequent three days. During this time, only an operator to whom this patient is assigned can add, edit, and delete clinical documentation attached to that service.
Other users can modify the service only when it is unlocked. The service lock expires in one of the following situations:
- Three days pass from the day a visit was started (even if the visit has not been submitted).
- A visit has been marked as unmade in Homecare Mobile Tablet.
- A visit has been submitted from Homecare Mobile Tablet.
