Single-service entry produces multiple billed services

Resolution

One reason why this might happen is if you have set up the service to break when staff overlap. Navigate to Agency Setup > Services Setup > By Program > Individual Services, Program: Your Program: Your Service, check to see if "Break Services when Overlap by Staff" is flagged. If so, this carves up Service Details within a claim based on whether or not the staff member has multiple services. For example:

Service entered for 3:45- 4:15 by staff A. Staff A also has another service from 3:30 - 4:00 with a different client. Because this time frame of 3:45 to 4:00 overlaps with the other service it will get it's own service details entry. If you look at the service details report it will break up the unit count and amount of each Service Detail proportional to its time over the full duration. So in this case there would be two entries for this single service - one from 3:45-4:00 and one from 4-4:15.

From an accounting perspective there is no difference whether this flag is checked or not. Claim will be produced for same number of units and same amount of revenue will be booked.
