Test and Simulate an Upgrade
Complete the following steps to test and upgrade the Upgrade Utility and log in.
Test and Simulate an Upgrade
- Launch the Version Upgrade Utility and log in*.
- In the Evolv CS Upgrade window, enter a name in the Server Name and Username fields and click Next.
Notes:
- Your username may be “sa” or “upgradeuser” depending on how your Upgrade Utility program was originally setup. If you do not have this information, contact your system administrator or submit a support ticket at http://www.ntst.com/contact-support/.
- To look up your server name, you can execute the following query and execute it in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
- For the Select Upgrade Package field, click Browse. Select the Path (root directory) where the Upgrade package was extracted. For example, the root directory for the upgrade package in this scenario is the evolv_cs_upgrade_v80 folder.
Important: The path is the root directory of the current upgrade package.
- Ensure the correct upgrade version is displayed in the Package Version field and click Next.
Notes:
- If the upgrade to this version is being performed for the first time, the utility will restore evolv_cs_master database from the upgrade package. No user interaction is required. The status of database restore will be reflected in the status pane at the bottom of the screen.
- When an upgrade is performed for the second or additional times (other profiles being upgraded), the system will skip the database restore. During the installation, you are receiving the most recent copy of the evolv_cs_master database; therefore, the upgrade utility does not have to update the database.
- In the Choose Profile field, select the profile.
Note: The profile information is displayed for visual confirmation that the correct profile will be upgraded. Both the current version of the database and the Upgrade version will be displayed as well. Important: If you have reached this point, the Upgrade Utility has been configured properly. We will not continue with the upgrade but instead will show you screenshots of the process in order to familiarize you with all the necessary steps. Please do not click Next or attempt to continue with an upgrade.
- If all of the information is correct, click Next.
- In the confirmation message, click Yes to Proceed to upgrade profile test.
Note: Upgrade processing will start and display its progress. During this time, the upgrade is running and the details of the upgrade are being logged by the utility.
System Result: When the upgrade is complete, the log of all upgrade detailed steps is displayed:
- To view any errors, in the Shown drop-down list, select Errors Only.
- To view error details, right-click the error and select Open Error.
System Result: A Notepad window will open displaying the text of the error. Copy and paste this text to the support ticket to communicate the error to the Netsmart support team.Click Finish.
- In the Upgrade Completed confirmation message, click OK.
