How to Include User Scrolling Free Templates
Avatar contains functionality to allow you to set up user-defined text fields on modeled forms. These are referred to as user scrolling free text templates and can be set up with user-defined content. The complete process to set up a user scrolling free text template is outlined below.
Steps
- Define a table in the Table Definition form. In the Column Definition section, add a scrolling free text column (Type of Column field). Submit the form.
- Create or modify a form in the Form Definition form, using the same table. Add an object to the form, select the scrolling free text table column. Submit the form.
- Open the User Scrolling Free Text Template form, and select the same table. Select a table column, in the Template Definition section. Enter the text that will appear in the user scrolling free text field. This is essentially prompt text that helps the user to enter their notes, or whatever information is required. Submit the form.
- Open the form you have modeled. The example form below has only the scrolling free text field in it.
- Right-clicking the scrolling text box will display the User Templates menu in the right-click menu. Select the template to populate the field with the template text.
- The field is then populated with the previously entered text.
