Enable ICD-10 - Registry Setting

Avatar PM > Client Information > Diagnosis

This is a one way registry setting, that cannot be disabled once set.

Once set, Problem Code descriptions can no longer be edited.

Specifying a date will cause printed bills and electronic billing to use ICD-10 codes for all services entered on or after this date. This registry setting also enables the following ICD-10 functionality throughout Avatar:

  • The Diagnosis form. This replaces the existing Diagnosis form as well as the Medical Diagnosis, Working Diagnosis, NRI Diagnosis and Update Service Medical Diagnosis forms.
  • A web service based diagnosis lookup provided by IMO for all diagnosis lookup fields.

You may use the 'Start Date to Use ICD-10 Format for Billing' field on the Guarantors/Payors form to override the date in this registry setting for a particular guarantor, if you wish to verify that all services have been billed with the correct ICD-9 codes before switching to ICD-10 codes.
