Prevent Documentation by Appointment Status

This article describes a 2024 planned feature delivered through the myAvatar Product Roadmap. This information is subject to change.

What are we doing?

myAvatar is being enhanced to prevent documentation by Progress Note or Service Documentation against appointments with an inappropriate appointment status.

Why are we doing it?

myAvatar administrators need staff to update the appointment status appropriately before they begin documentation for that appointment. To support this requirement, there is a need to prevent documentation by Progress Note or Service Documentation against an existing appointment that does not currently have an appropriate Appointment Status.

How are we doing it?

myAvatar Scheduling Calendar will be enhanced to add an extended dictionary element to the Appointment Status dictionary (Client > Appointment Status (#10005)) labeled Allow Documentation with options of Yes and No. Blank will be considered equivalent to Yes. When set to No, if a user selects Existing Appointment within either a Progress Note or Service Documentation and selects an appointment with a No status, the user will receive an error message. The documentation will not allow for filing or posting if the appointment status is not changed appropriately.
