Appointment Posting Enhancements
This article describes a 2024 planned feature delivered through the myAvatar Product Roadmap. This information is subject to change.
What are we doing?
A series of enhancements to myAvatar to support posting and scheduling appointments to ensure that unposted appointments and appointment series are managed appropriately.
Why are we doing it?
Over time, unposted appointments and recurring appointment series with no end date can build up and impact database performance. The enhancements described here will assist with general administration of appointments and maintenance for the scheduling database tables.
How are we doing it?
A registry setting will be added to enable an agency to require a user-defined end date when scheduling a recurring appointment series. Open-ended recurring appointment series will not be supported when the registry setting is enabled. In addition, myAvatar will be enhanced with configuration options to support auto-posting an aged appointment that has not been posted by other means. If the associated service remains unposted, it will also be posted automatically based on the configuration. There will also be two new forms added. The new Recurring Appointment Management form will facilitate appointment cancellations within a defined set of parameters. The new Appointment Batch Posting form will post aged prior appointments that were previously unposted. This process will result in posting appointments but not posting the associated services as they may not be appropriate due to the age of the unposted appointment.
