Enable Dongle Authentication - Registry Setting

RADplus Utilities > System Security > User Definition

'Y' enables the Require Dongle Authentication field in the User Definition, and User Role Definition forms (Forms and Tables section).

This field requires a user to have a valid dongle that matches their User ID, when that user logs into Avatar.

Avatar will within 60 seconds if a user who is required to have a valid dongle removes the dongle without logging out of Avatar.

The user can unlock Avatar, when that user's dongle is recognized.

The following logic is enabled:

  • If Avatar Order Entry is installed, users who require dongle authentication will be allowed to submit pharmacy-type orders in the Client Profile / Physicians Orders form.
    This will override any indication in the Client Profile / Physicians Orders form that the user is allowed to enter and update pharmacy-type orders.
    At submission time for such orders, the presence of the user's dongle will be re-checked, and submission will be disallowed if the user's dongle is not present.

  • If Avatar eMAR is installed, users who require dongle authentication will be allowed to open Avatar eMAR.

'N' disables the Require Dongle Authentication field.
