'Y' enables the Code Type field in the CPT Code Definition form.

This field defines the type of code to be used when searching procedure codes in the UB-92/UB-04/837I Billing Maintenance Screen form, depending on the selection made in the 'Form Locator 79 (Procedure Coding Method Used)' field. Options are:

  • CPT Code (default)
  • HCPCS
  • Both

For example, if "HCPCS" is selected in the 'Form Locator 79 (Procedure Coding Method Used)' field, all HCPCS codes will be available in procedure code fields.

'N' disables the above field, and allows only ICD9 codes to be selected in the UB-92/UB-04/837I Billing Maintenance Screen form.
