Rendering Provider Name (Loop 2310B) - Registry Setting

This registry setting can be found in the following locations:

'Y' enables the Select Type Of Information To Include In Rendering Provider Name (2310B) field on the Guarantor/Program Billing Defaults form (837 Dental section).

By default, the 837 Dental format contains attending provider information in the 'Rendering Provider Name (Loop 2310B)'. This field allows you to specify whether to include the Attending Practitioner, or the Rendering Practitioner information in loop 2310B.

'N' removes the field from the form.

'Y' enables the following fields on the Guarantor/Program Billing Defaults form.

  • Select Type Of Information To Include In Rendering Provider Name (2310B) - (added to the 837 Professional section)
    By default, the 837 Professional format contains attending provider information in the 'Rendering Provider Name (Loop 2310B)'. This field allows you to specify whether to include the Attending Practitioner, the Rendering Practitioner, or the Attending Practitioner only if the Rendering Practitioner information is not found, in loop 2310B.
  • Select Rendering Provider Override (HCFA-1500-NPI Version Only) - (added to the Paper CMS-1500 section)
    By default, the Paper HCFA-1500 format contains rendering provider information in the 'Rendering Provider (Box 24I, 24J, and 31)'. This field allows you to specify whether to:
    • Include the Attending Provider as the rendering provider if the rendering provider is missing the NPI information for NPI-Version Only bills,
    • Include the Incident-To Practitioner as the rending provider, in order to split and sort the bills by Incident-To Practitioner
    • Ensure the Rendering Provider information is sent as the rendering provider.

'N' removes the fields from the form.
