Referring Provider Determination Method - Registry Setting

Define whether the referring provider loops in the 837I (loops 2310C and 2420C), and the 837P (loops 2310A and 2420F) will contain referring practitioner, referring provider information, or will not be supported.

Option Notes
0 Excludes referral information in the 837I, or 837P formats.
1 Includes referring practitioner information (if available).
2 Sends referring provider information (if available).

Note: Referring Provider and Referring Practitioner are two separate entities in myAvatar.

  • A Provider is an organization (or outside provider)
  • A Practitioner is an individual that is found within myAvatar
