Enable Procedure Codes Date Validation - Registry Setting
Avatar PM > Billing > Services
Define the behavior when start and end dates for CPT, HCPCS, ICD9CM procedure codes are validated against the service date in a bill:
-
'E' a code will be excluded from 837 and paper bills if the procedure code is not effective for a service date.
A warning will display that the procedure code is not effective. The user cannot enter the code.
-
'W' a warning will display that the procedure code is not effective. The user can enter the code.
In addition, these codes can be entered in 837 and paper bills.
This registry setting affects several forms where procedure code are entered, including the Client Procedure Input, and UB-92/UB-04/837I Billing Maintenance forms.
Codes will be validated against a service date only when a procedure code is entered or changed.
If a procedure code is changed, and the value in this registry setting is changed, the code will not be made unless each procedure field is changed.
'N' disables procedure code date verification.
