Allow Merging Into Existing Episode - Registry Setting

This registry setting allows you to merge source client episodes into existing target client episodes of the same treatment program type. 

'Y' enables the following functionality:

  • The Create New Episode On Merge field is added to the Client Merge form (Client Merge section).
    This field allows you to choose whether or not to create a new target episode with the client merge.

    • Select Yes to merge the source client data into a new target client episode.

    • Select No to merge the source client data into an existing target client episode associated with the same treatment program.

  • The Client Merge By Batch section will allow merging source client episodes into target client episodes associated with the same treatment program, when 'N' is selected in the Create New Episode On Merge field.
    These rules apply:

    • Both the source episode and target episode dates must overlap (both episodes must be active at the same time, on one or more days).
    • If the source client episode is associated with the same outpatient, or partial hospitalization treatment program as an existing target client episode, the admission and discharge dates for the target episode will be updated to match the earlier admission and later discharge date between the two episodes.
    • The client merge will not be allowed if the changes to the episode as a result of the merge are such that it would overlap with another of the target client's existing episodes of the same treatment program.
    • Client admission, discharge and bed assignment data will be excluded from the merge.
    • The client merge will create a new target episode if the target client has no existing episodes of the same treatment program type as the source client episode.

'N' disables the above functionality.
