Enable Service Times - Registry Setting

Avatar MSO > Claims Processing

This is a hidden registry setting. To view this setting, select Yes in the Include Hidden Registry Settings field on the Registry Settings form.

'Y' adds the fields Service Start Time and Service End Time to the Service Detail section of the following forms:

  • Fast Service Entry
  • Claim Processing (CMS-1500)
  • Claim Processing with Override (CMS-1500)
  • Claim Processing UB-04
  • Claim Processing with Override (UB-04)

Service times populate from 2400-NTE (Line Note) on the 837 Professional in the following format: SVCTIME 0000-1111

Service Start Time is 0000 and Service End Time is 1111. SVCTIME must be in position of 1 of NTE02 and Service Start Time must start at position 10 of NTE02. Service times will be output on 837 Professionals in the same format. This will take precedence over any other settings for the 2400 NTE segment.

Also, the following fields are added to the CPT Code Definition and Revenue Code Definition forms:

  • Require Service Time
Select whether or not services containing the selected procedure code will require Service Start Time and Service End Time values for approval.
  • Populate Duration Using Service Times
Select whether or not the Duration field will populate automatically with the duration difference between Service Start Time and Service End Time.
  • Allow Service Time Overlap
Select whether or not a service associated with this procedure code should be approved if it overlaps with another required service time.
  • Overlap With Procedure Codes
Select the procedure codes that may be approved if the services overlap. If none are selected, all services will be approved.
  • Overlap With Procedure Code Group
Select the procedure code group that may be approved if the services overlap. If nothing is selected, all services will be approved.

'N' removes the above fields from their respective forms. Any service times sent on an 837 or web service will be ignored.
