'Y' performs the following:

  • Enables the Effective Date field in the Authorization Grouping Definition form, and the Effective Date column in the Authorization Grouping Definition report.

  • Re-file authorization groupings using the effective date of "1/1/1900".

  • Enable checks in the Service Authorization and Contracting Provider Service Authorization forms to:

Prevent selecting authorization groupings that have no procedure codes filed in the Authorization Grouping Definition form, with an effective date on or before the authorization begin date.

  • When an authorization grouping is selected, populate procedure codes filed in the Authorization Grouping Definition form, with an effective date on or before the authorization begin date.

'N' performs the following:

  • Disables the Effective Date field in the Authorization Grouping Definition form, and the Authorization Grouping Report.

  • Re-files authorization groupings with procedure codes defined for the latest effective date.

  • Uses the default logic in the Service Authorization, and Contracting Provider Service Authorization forms.

Authorization grouping effective date functionality is not supported for CareNet enabled applications.
