Override Delimiters - Registry Setting

This registry setting allows users to override default delimiters on the Eligibility Inquiry (270) submission file. The delimiters on the Eligibility Inquiry & Response (270/271) are used as a terminator at the end of each segment. by default, the segment delimiter used is a tilde ~. The addition of this registry setting will allow a client to use a different character as the delimiter used as a segment terminator.

'Y' allows the user to specify delimiters to override. This is accomplished by adding the following new fields to the Guarantors/Payors form (270 / 271 / 834 section):

  1. 270 Data Element Separator
  2. 270 Component Element Separator
  3. 270 Segment Terminator

'N' removes these fields from the form.
