Other Subscriber Secondary ID Logic - Registry Setting

'Y' enables the following fields and functionality:

  • The Enable Other Subscriber Secondary Reference Identification (2330A-REF-02) Logic field in the Guarantor/Program Billing Defaults form (837 Professional section).
  • The Other Subscriber Secondary Identification (2330A-REF-02) field in the HCFA-1500/837P Maintenance Screen, and Posting/Adjustment Codes Definition forms.
  • The following logic:
    • If liability is distributed to a client whose guarantor is associated with financial classes - 1 (HMO), 4 (Champus), 5 (Commercial), 7 (Medicare A), 8 (Medicare B) or 9 (Blue Cross):
    • The 2330A-REF-02 segment will populate with "S" unless a value is entered in the Other Subscriber Secondary Identification (2330A-REF-02) field (HCFA-1500/837P Maintenance Screen form).
    • If liability is transferred to a guarantor in the 837P bill: the 2330A-REF-02 segment will be populated with the value selected in the Other Subscriber Secondary Identification (837-P-2330A-REF-02) field (Posting/Adjustment Codes Definition form).

'N' disables the above fields and functionality.
