Include Observe Medicare 24-Hour Rule - Registry Setting

'Y' enables the 'Observe Medicare 24-Hour Rule' field in the Guarantors/Payors form.

The following conditions must occur for a service to distribute to a guarantor:

• The service must be associated with an outpatient treatment program.
• The service must not have a professional component (No selected in the 'Does This Code Have A professional Component' field, Service Codes form).
• The service must be rendered less than 24 hours before a client is admitted into an inpatient treatment program.

If Yes is selected in this field:

• Service liability will not distribute for clients that have been admitted to a Medicare bed less than 24 hours after receiving an outpatient non-professional service.

This does not apply to self-pay guarantors.

'N' disables this field and the associated logic.
