Select Segments To Suppress (I) - Dictionary Value

Select Segments To Suppress is set up in the Dictionary Update form (Other Tabled Files - data element 13151).

Example - A payor that requires no duplicate diagnosis codes be present in the file, and a service billed where the Admitting Diagnosis is also the Primary Diagnosis. This can result in the same diagnosis code reporting in HI*ABK (Primary Diagnosis) and HI*ABJ (Admitting Diagnosis). The 'Select Segments to Suppress (I)' dictionary in Guarantor/Program Billing Defaults can be used to Suppress the Admitting Diagnosis segment.

When updating this dictionary, the Dictionary Code must be in the format; LOOP-SEGMENT-QUALIFIER. The Dictionary value can be user defined, but the Dictionary Code must be in the proper format for the segment to properly be suppressed.
