Group Code - Dictionary Value

Group Code is set up in the Dictionary Update form (Other Tabled Files - data element 31).

Group codes are used for reporting on the Earned Income Report. They allow you to group service codes at a higher level than Covered Charge Category. Groups may be the same as the Covered Charge Categories, or could be used as an alternative. Netsmart recommends using the Covered Charge Category definition as a base prior to defining group codes. Under direction of the project manager and review of the core NTST billing reports, your agency may opt to adjust the group code definitions.

This dictionary has extended data elements:

• 35 - Evaluation Management Service Type
  Select whether is code represents a Consultation or Observation service for evaluation management.
• 36 - Is This A Wellness Visit?
• 37 - CPT Code Recommendation
  Select whether or not to use the CPT code recommendation for services, such as new service evaluation and management (E&M) visits that are being coded as a psychiatric evaluation.
