Note: Currently myAvatar does not support Wi-Fi- models. While other USB models may work with myAvatar, they were not tested for compatibility and support cannot be guaranteed. For additional information regarding any of the tablets listed above, or for assistance in determining the best model for use in your clinical environment, please visit the Topaz website at: www.topazsystems.com
All currently-supported signature pads within myAvatar are compatible with myAvatar NX with the installation of a new driver:

Serial Model Signature Pads
-
TLBK462-BSB SignatureGem LCD 1x5
The BSB signature pads use a converter from ftdichip.com, and you can find the virtual com port drivers here http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm. Once installed, and the BSB pad plugged in, the virtual com port should be available for mapping.
-
T-S460-B-R (Serial)
Serial model signature pads should work with myAvatar. Note that some server environments, such as virtual servers, may have additional setup requirements that will have to be determined once Netsmart has gained access to your server and network and can test signature pad functionality.
- Topaz Bluetooth Signature Pad
Topaz SigLite BT wireless T-S460-BT2-R (Windows PC/VM only. Not yet supported for Citrix.)
To use a USB port connection for a signature pad in Citrix or Terminal Services environments, the solution currently recommended by Netsmart is the use of a BSB signature pad.
The BSB model contains an internal serial to USB converter. The results are very similar to what you can obtain using a serial model pad, except the converter is built directly into the signature pad casing. You end up with what appears to be a native USB-connected signature pad (with all power pulled directly from the USB port), but works in the same manner as a serial pad, in that it converts the USB port into which it is plugged into a virtual com port. From there, the virtual com port can be mapped to the server.
A solution using HSB (USB) signature pad models is not yet available for myAvatar.
MobileConnect Signature Pads
MobileConnect supports several Topaz signature pad devices:
- SignatureGem 4x3 LCD T-LBK755 (T-LBK755-BHSB-R)
- SignatureGem 1x5 LCD T-LBK462 (T-LBK462-HSB-R)
- SigLite 1x5 LCD T-LBK460 (T-S460-HSB-R)
- SigLite 1x5 T-S460 non LCD (T-S460-B-R)
