Enable Signature Module
Before you Begin
-
The Signature functionality is for Avatar systems running on RADplus version 2006 or higher.
-
Valid license key is required.
-
Open the System Security Defaults option. [RADplus Utilities -> System Security Defaults]
-
Click Yes in the Enable Signature Pad Support field to display the License Key screen.
-
Enter the Customer name and license key in the applicable location. License and key information is case sensitive and must be entered exactly as displayed in the license key document supplied with the module.
The license and key information is only required the first time the signature module is enabled. The functionality can be enabled and disabled at any subsequent time without the need to re-enter this information.
-
Click OK in the dialog box to display and enable the Signature Timeout in Seconds field in the System Security Defaults option. Type the number of seconds to allow for signature before timing out the signature pad.
-
Click File Data to save the settings.
Table Definition
The RADplus Modeling, Table Definition option has been modified to include the Signature field as one of the selections in the Type of Column field. Adding the Signature field to a user-defined option allows a user to record a signature and store it within a binary storage table associated with the option.
Signatures obtained through the Table Definition option are not part of the Signature Authentication functionality.
Steps (to use the Signature Field)
-
Click Get Signature within the data element to enable the Signature Pad and display the Signature Screen.
-
Sign the signature pad in the appropriate area and tap OK. The signature displays within the Signature field. Tapping Cancel on the signature pad, or clicking Cancel in the signature screen disables the pad and closes the screen.
-
Click File Data to save the data with the signature in the associated tables for the user-defined option.
Steps (to Create a User Signature Authentication File)
-
Open the User Signature option from the RADplus Utilities->System Security menu.
-
Type the Username and Password of the user creating the Signature Authentication File in the appropriate fields.
-
Click the Get Signature button to enable the signature pad for entering the reference signatures for the Signature Authentication file.
-
Have the user sign the pad seven times, tapping the Ok box upon completion of each signature.
-
Tap Cancel to retry a signature attempt.
Click No on the Are you sure you want to cancel out of signature creation dialog to continue with the same attempt that was cancelled. Clicking Yes exits out of the process and requires a restart.
TIPS
- Allow sufficient time between signings for the signature pad to refresh, but ensure that each attempt is within the time allotted in the Signature Timeout in Seconds field. Each of the seven signings are accompanied by a signature screen on the workstation that tracks the number of signings.
- If there is too much variation between the seven signatures, the Template Could Not be Created dialog box displays. Click the Get Signature button to restart the process.
-
After seven valid signatures, the Validate Signature screen displays, enabling the signature pad. Sign the signature pad again to validate the new Signature Authentication File.
If the signature is not close to any of the seven signatures, the Signature Not Valid dialog displays. Click Ok to clear the dialog and delete the newly created Signature Authentication File. The process must be restarted by clicking the Get Signature button.
-
When the Validation signature is accepted, click File Data to save the new Signature Authentication file.
