ScriptLink details for forms and fields
You can use ScriptLink on all modeled forms and many standard forms in myAvatar, and you can change most--but not all-- properties of fields with ScriptLink.
Note: Some standard forms only allow you to configure settings for certain tabs or sections, but not others.
Which forms can use ScriptLink?
The general rule is that you can use ScriptLink on any form that can be opened in Form Designer.
Form Designer provides access to configure ScriptLink settings on fields and for form-level events.
Note: You cannot configure ScriptLink on product forms (Form Designer, Form and Table Documentation, Dictionary Update, and so on).
What properties can I change in a field on a form?
You can use ScriptLink to control whether:
- a field is enabled for all field types
- the scroll bar is locked in multi-line textboxes
You can use ScriptLink to change the value of text-based fields such as:
- textboxes
- date fields
- time fields
- search fields
You can use ScriptLink to change the selected item (or items) in single-select or multiple-select fields such as:
- dropdown lists
- radio button lists
- checkboxes
- checkbox lists
When changing the value of a single-select or multiple-select dictionary field, you must use the dictionary code and not the display value.
Note: You cannot currently control the visibility property for fields with ScriptLink.
