Create a ZIP code import file.

Prerequisite:

 Create a section delimited file.
  • Use any Windows-based word processing program. Save the document as a text (.txt) file. The file can be created in Microsoft Excel, and saved as a comma delimited text file.
  • Use four section delimited (ASCII character 9) columns. Follow each column with a carriage return (ASCII character 13), and a line feed (ASCII character 10).
  • Save the file on the server.

  1. Open the ZIP Code Table Maintenance form, and Select Import File.
  2. Navigate to the file and select Open.
Note: To view the import details, select View Import File Scan Results. All errors must be corrected before the file can be posted. After correcting the file, it must be re-compiled.
