Record Lock Definition

Manage record lock definitions.

  • Record locks restrict a form by being opened by more than one entity at a time (client, practitioner, etc.).

  1. Go to: RADplus Utilities > Database Record Locking > Record Lock Definition
  2. If record lock definitions have been created, the Record Lock Definition dialog displays.
  3. Select Edit or Add to edit or add a definition.
  4. The Record Lock Definition dialog box displays.
  5. Select the entity database and then, Ok.
  6. The Entity Database field displays the entity database.
  7. In the Type of Record Lock field:
    • Select Prohibitive to prevent multiple users from opening record lock forms.
    • Select Warning to allow multiple users to allow record lock forms, after displaying a warning.
Note: If multiple record lock definitions contain the same form, Prohibitive access takes priority over Warning.
  8. In the Record Lock Description field, enter the record lock name.
  9. In the Record Lock Message field, type the message to display in the warning dialog box.
  10. In the Record Lock Forms field, select forms to be included in the record lock.
  11. If appropriate, in the Deactivate Record Lock field select Yes to deactivate the record lock.
Note: Deactivating a record lock stops it from working but does not delete it. Record locks can be reactivated (Release Database Record Lock form).
  12. Select Submit.
